Dark Sky Exploration
Get away from the bright city lights!
Star-Nite Astronomy’s first Dark Sky Exploration session will be at Pedernales Falls State Park on August 23rd, 2025, 8pm - 12am, in the Star Theater.
You will experience a guided exploration of nebula, globular clusters, and yes, even galaxies. I’ll have a list of targets and we will find and learn about each one together!
Space is available for 15 participants (3 per Star-Nite telescope) - cost is $15 per person + $6 day pass at the State Park. If you wish to bring your own telescope, you may! Reserve your spot now!
If you wish to stay and camp overnight, campsites are available at the park website. Make a day out of it! The park is as beautiful by day as the sky is at night.
It is recommended for ages 13 and up. Parent is required for those under 18.
I took this picture of the Milky Way from Pedernales Falls State Park using my Pixel Pro 8’s astrophotography feature! (Note: it wasn’t this bright to the naked eye, but the Milky Way was distinctly visible.)
